For this purpose a special control room will be set up at the SAT hospital, Specially trained employees will be deputed at the help desk in the control room. As part of the center of excellence criteria, every rare disease reported in the state should be registered at the SAT hospital. A genetics department will also be set up as part of this at the SAT hospital.

The experts at the SAT hospital will be providing the guidance to the hospitals of the respective region where the rare disease has been reported, to provide treatment to the patients.

“As part of the recognition received by the SAT hospital, it would enable the hospital to have rapid strides in providing specialized treatments for rare diseases, to have more research in the women and child health care, and also in establishing newer treatment facilities at the hospital,” said the health minister.
