Indore: Pharmaceutical companies urged the MP government to formulate a uniform product licensing policy to create a level playing field for local players. Industry players discussed challenges of the sector and demands at the constitution of the MP chapter of the Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA) for the tenure 2023-25.

Industry players said an actual single window mechanism and speedy permission network will help industry in expanding its footprint in MP.

Paresh Chawla, Chairman, IDMA, MP Chapter said, “We as an association work to understand the challenges and demands of the industry. One of the concerns of the industry is the non-uniform practices of product licensing. In other states, manufactures get the permission for production of a certain drug using the discretion of the licensing authority but the same is not allowed to us. This is not giving a level playing field to the industry of our state and we are losing business.”
