pune: The medical sector should earn the trust of patients, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Saturday.

Citing an example, Pawar said that he trusts his family doctor when it comes to his health. There should be trust among the patients and relatives in the healthcare system. He was speaking at the inauguration of KLE Medicover Hospital To install Bhosari.

Pawar said, “I was told that the KLE society will start a medical college and hospital in Pune and I have told them that the work should commence as soon as possible.”

MP Shrirang Barne, who was present at the ceremony, said that private hospitals should work for the betterment of common people. He said that a private hospital, which started functioning with over 700 beds do not even see half of its beds getting filled due to its unavailability for the general public.

In addition to this, it has 15 maternity beds along with a 12-bed dialysis unit.
