Lucknow: Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Friday ordered a probe into the matter of unnecessary delay in treatment of heart patients at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences ,SGPGIMS) and King George’s Medical University (KGMU).

The Deputy CM, who also holds the health portfolio, said in a tweet that he has asked SGPGIMS director to investigate the matter of delay in the diagnostic tests and submit a report in seven days. Similarly, he has also asked vice-chancellor of KGMU to investigate the incident of a patient being made to run from department to another for tests.

He said immediate action must be taken against the culprits responsible for such anomalies.

The action comes a day after a patient died at Lari cardiology department of KGMU on Thursday as he was not admitted in time. He was made to run from one department to another for tests.
