Cardiologist Dr Gurpreet Singh Wander is new VC of BFUHS, Health News, ET HealthWorld
Bathinda: Heart specialist Dr Gurpreet Singh Wander has been appointed as new vice-chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) in Faridkot, Prior to his new appointment, Dr. Wander was head of the Hero Heart unit of Dayanand Medical College Hospital in Ludhiana. He is among cardiologists of Punjab, known all across the country.
chief minister Bhagwant Mann during his visit to Faridkot on September 24 had announced that in few days a renowned doctor would be appointed as the VC of BFUHS.
Dr Wander will replace Dr Raj Bahadurwho had tendered his resignation on July 30 after Punjab health minister Chetan Singh Jouramajraangry over complaints of mismanagement and dirty mattresses had asked him to lie on a bed meant for patients, on July 29. The health minister was on a visit to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, a constituent college of BFUHS.
The chief minister tweeted on Friday evening announcing about the appointment of Dr Wander as VC. Dr Wander has stated to work honestly and with sheer devotion.
